Health and Sanitation Volunteer Program ACDF Nepal aims to mobilize volunteers with health backgrounds in rural places around Pokhara where people do not have access to any health institute, as the government is not able to provide adequate health services. On the other hand, rural Nepali people are often reluctant to go to the hospital and other modern health services because of orthodox thinking, superstition, and other cultural influnces. Some Nepali people may visit a witch doctor when they are suffering from an illness, so they sometimes die without getting the benefit of modern medication. ACDF Nepal is playing an active role in linking these rural people with those around the world and within the country who are really eagar to serve the many needy people in Nepal's rural areas.
Environment Awareness Program After completing training the first week, volunteers will be placed with a Nepali family in one of the program villages. The host family will usually live half an hour from the school/ environmental placement. Volunters will teach environmental awareness at the local school club on the door to door of Nepali village each day. Sunday through Friday.
Volunteer for public library We have two small libraries with 1000 books running in a rented house. So we have to promote our library in order to promote the educational development of student from lower cast and student to whom study as back to school program .We welcome to volunteers to help in this public library. As book care giver library assistant, newspaper collector, donor, helper,.....etc for library.
Volunteer in orphanage Volunteering in the orphanage is a good opportunity to experience the obstacles and rewards of serving helpless people. The high mortality rate for mothers during childbirth, as well as the short life expectancy in general, leaves thousands of children without parents each year. As a result, most of these needy children are deprived of education and find work as child labourers in restaurants, factories, hotels, slaves, and as trash collectors. These disadvantaged children need attention, love, care, and the opportunity to further their education. Orphanages provide these kids with daily meals, a bed, and some hope. Volunteers will be placed either in orphanages or in the host family near to the orphanages, where they will spend most of the time with the children, assisting them in their day-to-day routines. The children are mostly between the ages of four and fifteen and have a basic understanding of English. The general role of the volunteer will be to act as an older sibling: to care for, look after and encourage the children. Volunteers will teach the children general life skills, including health and sanitation, as well as arts, crafts and music. They may also help the children with their schoolwork. As a volunteer you may also organize tours, games, drawing classes, singing, dancing, painting and other activities that children enjoy.
